Self-perceptions of aging (SPA) describe how older adults understand and evaluate their own aging. Although SPA is associated with health and well-being and is modifiable, it has received limited attention as a basis for design in HCI. My research examines SPA in context, develops ways to elicit it, and explores how technology can engage with SPA through reflection and design.
This research looks at how technology can support wellbeing, with a focus on aging and culture, through empirical studies, cultural probes and research through design.
